Discount Massage at Psoas Body Work in San Francisco
Tuesday, February 3, 2009 2:25Active Release Technique, or A.R.T. as it’s known, is a technique that involves strategic pressure on trigger points combined with guided stretches. Practitioners are highly trained and the techniques are useful for treating repetitive stress injuries, breaking up old scar tissue, and treating sports injuries too.
My experience with A.R.T. started at a climbing gym in San Francisco, where a chiropractor was available giving free consultations. My arms were hurting and he suggested using A.R.T. to treat the old injuries that I told him about. He taught me a few moves I could do myself that helped. After that I looked up a practitioner close to me and found Psoas Massage and Bodywork in San Francisco, SoMa district. When I called them, they were very considerate, listened to my story carefully before they assigned me a practitioner.
They were very helpful but I stopped going to Psoas after my initial pain subsided, partly because of the expense and partly because it wasn’t necessary. Now I have word they are giving discounts for February to new patients, so if you’ve been considering alternative treatments and you’re in the SF Bay Area, you may want to check them out–they are in walking distance of the Montgomery BART stop. (And no this isn’t a sponsored entry, just wanted to share the news I got.)
Here’s the announcement:
February is A.R.T month at Psoas
If you have never tried A.R.T. (Active Release Techniques), now is your opportunity. We are offering a 50% discount off your first A.R.T. session at Psoas.
Psoas now has three A.R.T. practitioners, and we love the results we are getting with our clients. Active Release Technique helps treat acute injuries/repetitive strain on muscle, tendon, ligament, and nerve impingement – Try it; it works!
Psoas can be found on the web right here. Or read reviews on yelp.
